    Description

    Feature :
    Name: AD8318 logarithmic detector
    Size: 31mm X 23mm
    Supply voltage range: 5V
Features: AD8318 is a demodulating logarithmic amplifier, capable of accurately converting an RF input signal to a corresponding dB scale output voltage. For the 1 MHz to 6 GHz signal, it can maintain an accurate log conformance, and can work up to 8 GHz down.
Input range is typically 60 dB (re: 50 Ω), the error is less than ± 1 dB. AD8318 response time is 10 ns, capable of detecting more than 45 MHz RF burst. At ambient temperature conditions, the device has excellent logarithmic intercept stability. The device also provides a slope of 2 mV / ° C temperature sensor outputs for additional system monitoring. Need 5 V single supply. Current consumption is typically 68 mA. When the device is disabled, power consumption to <1.5 mW
AD8318 can be configured to provide a control voltage power amplifier VGA, or provide measurement output VOUT pin. Because the output can be used for controller applications, wideband noise is very low. In this mode, the setpoint control voltage is applied to the VSET pin. After RF amplifier via a feedback loop to achieve closure VOUT, the output of the output amplifier is adjusted to a magnitude corresponding to VSET. AD8318 via VOUT pin 0 V to 4.9 V output, suitable for controller applications. As a measuring device, VOUT pin is connected externally to VSET to produce an output voltage VOUT, the amplitude of the RF input signal which is a linear decreasing function dB.
Logarithmic slope is nominally -25 mV / dB, but can be achieved by adjusting the feedback voltage VOUT to VSET interface adjustments. When using INHI input intercept of 20 dBm (re: 50 Ω, CW input). These parameters are very stable and does not vary with supply voltage and temperature fluctuations and changes
