Heathkit SB-220 Linear Amp Ham Pristine Condition Expertly Assembled, Box Manual

This is an exceptional example of the holy grail of Heathkit ham equipment. Our nearby British Columbia DX Club describes it this way: "The Heathkit SB-220, two 3-500Z, amplifier made a notable impact in the world of amateur radio when it debuted. ... It was the first, reasonably priced, intelligently designed, SSB-CW, HF-amplifier that was sold to the maateur radio community."
This particular Heathkit SB-220 was delivered in 1974, according to the postage on the included original shipping box. This was sold to us by a good friend of the original owner who expertly assembled the kit and is the only person known to have operated the unit.
The insides are pristine, as you can see in the photographs. The case is in great shape, too, with a few marks from storage.
Following advice from our local ham club, this unit has not been powered-up by us. This unit is being sold as-is with no returns. If there is a particular test you would like us to run and it can be done safely, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
We bought this along with two other ham pieces from the same original owner. All look to be in excellent condition and clearly have been well cared for through the decades of single-owner use.
