In this auction we offer:
The generator was included in the set of PRC-77 and related radios. It was used to send a 1600 Hz tone to the ether, which in special receiving devices was decoded and sent over the field line towards the field telephone set (or telephone exchange) as a ringing signal. As you can see in the photos, it has a special holder for mounting it to the radio handle. This generator is built on modern integrated circuits: HEF4059BP (programmable frequency divider) and SN8472N. There is also a 2 MHz quartz reference generator on the printed circuit board, a voltage stabilizer and a potentiometer for adjusting the tone level. There is a monostable button on the side panel, when pressed, the radio transmitter switches on, sending the generated 1600 Hz tone into the ether. There is also a 14-pin socket on the housing for connection with other devices, for example in a "car" kit. The generator housing is made of thick, high-strength plastic, it is fully hermetic.
