    Description

    The National Radio R-175 RF chokes are an ideal choice for KW level RF amplifiers operating between 1.6 and 30  MHz. They are specified in numerous construction articles in older ham magazines and ARRL Handbooks.
    The coils are wound with multiple PI sections on a white steatite ceramic form. The PI winding is to avoid undesired resonances within the amateur bands, which may occur with conventional solenoidal wound coils.
    They are mounted vertically, with three screws, on a chassis. The choke is 6 inches high.
    The choke is old, but has never been used. It is ready for your next project or for replacement use when repairing a KW amp.
    The inductance is rated at 225 microhenries, which is more than twice as high as B&W RF Chokes. This choke is suitable for use on 160 meters, and up to 10 meters.
